Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad alias Mega Star Padmabhushan Chiranjeevi was one of the famous Indian celebrities cum politician in India. Chiranjeevi was also called as Chiru or Supreme star or Mega Star and finally Annaiah by telugu people. This famous celeb cum politician was born on 22 August 1955. He is an Indian actor, producer, politician and a member of the Indian National Congress. He was the Minister of Andhra Pradesh State with independent charge for the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.




Mega Star Chiranjeevi Madras Film


In Earlier Mega star Chiranjeevi has went to Madras Film Institute to learn acting, and had worked primarily in Telugu cinema, in addition to Tamil, Kannada and Hindi films. He entered in to tollywood film industry and made his first acting debut in 1978, with the Telugu movie Punadhirallu. But the telugu film Pranam Khareedu was released earlier at the box office.

Chiranjeevi was famous for his break dancing skills and steps in songs in telugu movies. He got invitation to attend as a guest honor at the 59th Academy Awards. In the same year, chiru starred in telugu movie Swayam Krushi, which was premiered at the Moscow International Film Festival. In 1988, mega star co-produced Rudraveena tollywood telugu movie, which won the National Film Award for the Best Feature Film on National Integration. Chiranjeevi in his total 149 films and spanning thirty five years in industry have won four state Nandi Awards and nine Filmfare Awards South.

The year 2006 was a great year for mega star Chiranjeevi because he was honored with the india's pride award Padma Bhushan, India's third highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian cinema, and was presented with an honorary doctorate from Andhra University. Chiru the mega star represented Incredible India at the 14th International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony which was held in Macau. In the year 2013 IBN conducted a LIVE survey which named chiranjeevi as one of  "The men who changed the face of the Indian Cinema".

Chiranjeevi's one of the superhit in 1992 film Gharana Mogudu it was directed by K. Raghavendra Rao, is the only first Telugu film to gross over INR 10 crores at box office. On that film onwards, Chiranjeevi had become the highest paid actor in Indian cinema at that time. He become the famous celebrity and people finding him on cover pages of noted national weekly magazines in India. News magazine The Week hailed him as "The new money machine".

In 2002, He received the Samman Award for the Highest Income Tax Payer for the assessment year 1999-2000 by the Minister of State for Finance, Government of India. A poll conducted by CNN-IBN in 2006 named Chiranjeevi the most popular star of the Telugu Film Industry.

Not only in cinema’s out side of cinema life chiru was a kind hearted man. Chiranjeevi founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Foundation, established in 1998, which is involved in humanitarian activities. In 2008, with the support from the telugu people chiru entered in to politics by forming the Praja Rajyam Party.



Mega Star in Politics


In the 2009 Andhra Pradesh elections, Chiranjeevi contested from his native places, Palakollu and Tirupati. He was defeated by the Congress party candidate in Palakollu and was elected as a member of the State Assembly from the Tirupati constituency. Later, in February 2011, his Praja Rajyam Party merged into the Indian National Congress.
